Striving for independence
Stepped pyramids 1st appeared as generally flat-topped, mastaba-like ziggurats, built of adobe, in ancient Sumer, c4500. The technology is thought to have transferred to Egypt ~2650BCE where the first stone pyramid (known as Djoser’e pyramid) was built soon after. Less than 100yrs later, the Pharaoh Sneferu constructed his first (stepped) pyramid at Meidum. Remarkably, he then moved ~50km north to build the Bent and Red pyramids at Dahshur, before returning to Meidum to convert his 1st, stepped pyramid, into what was only the 2nd true pyramid.
The Red pyramid, the first true pyramid, was in many ways ‘paired’ with the somewhat strange Bent pyramid, completed just 2km away to the south. Known collectively as the “Shining Pyramids”, they were the same height (105m) and the angle of elevation at the top, was also the same, at 43o.
The Red pyramid was the 1st true pyramid and his converted stepped pyramid at Meidum, the became the 2nd true pyramid, and a precise, 2/3rd scale model of the Great pyramid, built later by his son Khufu.
Snefru also undertook an expansive development right down the Nile valley, in one year alone, establishing “35 estates with people and 122 farms (ranches)”,* plus at least one and probably a chain of 15 or more small pyramid-based settlements, that extended right across the delta to the north, and as far as 700km to the south. Most significantly, each of his new farm developments were given a strict requirement to produce an extensive list of products on an annual basis, ranging from poultry and livestock to vegetables and grain*.
What is known about Sneferu* has been built up mainly out of snippets of information that generally related to a specific year of his reign and the true scope of his achievements is almost certainly far greater than the surviving records demonstrate.
With a global network and similar stories from right around the world, the conclusion that a visiting alien race was involved is all but unavoidable. From my reconstruction of the technology, it is also apparent that the visitors relied on microwave energy beamed down from space to power their craft. And, for entirely logical reasons, it seems Sneferu wished to develop an aviation transport network that was at least partially if not totally independent and could potentially still be used after the visitors departed.
I believe it’s entirely irrational to even suggest there was not a financial imperative driving the massive expansion undertaken by Sneferu and maintained by his immediate descendants for over 100 years. With stories of similar developments involving pyramids, found quite independently, right around the world for over 5 millennia, no other conclusion makes any sense at all.
With the realisation that his ‘true’ pyramids actually represented a return from the high-intensity microwave technology of the stepped pyramids, it seems reasonable to conclude this was all done for a number of very practical reasons that almost certainly included a transport system able to transport goods to market over distances only made possible In very recent years with the expansion of the global aviation trading network.
Building a compendium of advanced knowledge
From the start, my interest in this subject was inspired by the almost universal evidence of technical supremacy at every level, from astronomy and geology, down to the manufacture of 40,000 artefacts in diorite and granite that cannot be explained within our present technology. Many of the best-known examples come from Flinders Petrie’s 1883 book, “The Pyramids and Temples at Giza”.
In my view, to assume that this widely-demonstrated technical ability was not associated with a technology far more advanced than our own in many eras, is both egotistical and totally irrational.
That said, it’s entirely apparent that these more-advanced beings were also unduly interested in passing on their knowledge in a manner that a future generation with anything above the most basic scientific knowledge, would find. The knowledge could give them an unexpected jump start.
When viewed from this perspective, it would appear that Sneferu was working under advice, most probably from the brilliant and later diefied architect and Egyptian Vizier, Imhotep, designer of an extensive array of trompe l’oeil and visual perspective effects within Djoser’s pyramid enclosure.
Whilst highly speculative, it seems entirely possible that the strange order-of-construction of Sneferu’s pyramids (and their decay) were designed to demonstrate some esoteric or basic knowledge about the progress of the technology they were built to serve. Why else would anyone convert a relatively new stepped pyramid into a true pyramid, as apparently occurred at Meidum*?
