Basic Forces behind the MACE Technology

In mimicking the GEC, the MACE engine is perhaps best appreciated from the perspective of an animation of the very first steam engine of the Industrial Era, Thomas Newcomen’s  “Atmospheric” Steam Engine, built in 1712.

Unlike later steam engines, although grossly inefficient, the Newcomen engine embodies the exact same principles found in Nature, producing power without using pressurised steam.

Nature produces <1000x more power than the whole of Industry combined, but it’s commonly assumed that an ‘atmospheric’ engine simply cannot supply the essential energy-density (E/D) needed to meet our insatiable demand for ‘usable’ power.

Since Nature is doing it all the time, the basic assumption, “that it’s impossible to extract ‘usable energy’ from the open ocean” is obviously irrational. It ‘merely’ requires that we copy Nature far more closely and work out how.

Historically, Newcomen’s ‘Atmospheric’ Steam Engine, used extensively to replace watermills and pump, water from mines, was the only one available for 50 years.

Powerful but horrendously slow and inefficient, when James Watt modified the machine to use steam under pressure, the Newcomen engine was superseded and quickly forgotten.

However, whilst James Watts’ ‘improvements’ were, without doubt, wholly responsible for introducing the Industrial Era,

his new engine had changed the basic principles of the machine’s operation and introduced an ‘apparently-unavoidable’ dependence on fossil fuels and all the problems we now face, with global warming.

Had the Newcomen engine instead been ‘improved’ by more carefully copying Nature and sticking with the basic principles, we might have avoided 300 years of pollution and the very real possibility now being faced, of a global climatic catastrophe.

The Basic MACE Engine

Using the same energy cycle as Mother Nature, the MACE engine is essentially a highly modified, super-efficient, vortex-driven version of Newcomen’s engine that, once fully primed, offers the potential of running on latent heat extracted directly from the open ocean.

With one vortex to drive vapour from the surface of the surrounding sea (or other suitably wetted horizontal surface or Ground Plane Barrier, (GPB)) and another to replace Newcomen’s cold-water spray, the MACE engine largely eliminates the inefficiencies of the original mechanism.

Performance can be greatly enhanced with the appropriate use of pressure, steam, venturis, elements, Thermo-Electric cells (TECs) and/or ultrasonic misters, indeed anything that appropriately increases the basic Energy Differential (E/D).

To work properly, the IRV MUST be kept horizontal and preferably over open water (or other suitable heat source) and the (linear) tornado vortex tube, must be held vertical.

The ultimate MACE engine is essentially a Solar-powered, turbine version of the Newcomen engine that uses two juxtaposed atmospheric vortexes in a unique array that avoids the gross inefficiencies of Newcomen’s original mechanism.

A cyclone over open water produces the water vapour used as  fuel by the tornado in the central, low-pressure vortex tube.

In theory, once primed, the MACE engine can run indefinitely, on energy supplied directly from the atmosphere and/or open ocean. The initial triggers ultimately act only as back-up.

One vortex feeds the other in an endless cycle, all ultimately driven by latent heat, extracted from the surrounding water by the Wind Chill effect, artificially combining the cyclone’s ability to release energy from the surface of the open ocean by forced evaporation, and the tornado’s ability to flash-condense that vapour back into fresh water and clean energy within a vortex tube.

Summary of the Basic MACE Engine

When a magician ‘reveals all’, the ‘impossible’ can seem ridiculously obvious.

To properly thrive, a civilisation requires fresh water, arable land and many forms of usable energy, all of which can be supplied by various iterations of the basic MACE engine. In theory, energy can be drawn from anywhere, from the surface of the sea to the Stratopause, but the open ocean is the primary source of stored energy.

Once the basic concept is seriously considered, it’s hard to avoid seeing how quite basic techniques, using pyramids, thermals and manmade vortexes can potentially control and/or power every aspect of the Global Energy System.

  1. On the macro scale, the basic MACE research covers the PFM responsible for reducing the recent severity of Northern hemisphere winters, plus the obvious potential of manmade thermals from large pyramids to power MACE Aircraft high into the air for flights right around the globe and possibly on, into space.
  2. On a somewhat lesser scale, the research also shows how, by automatically triggering large numbers of smaller, conventional storm events, it may be possible to significantly mitigate or even eliminate entirely the havoc caused by major cyclones and tornados.
  3. And, on a smaller scale still, MACE engines can produce electrical power, fresh water, and finally, lift for a new, ecologically green, VTOL aircraft with almost unlimited potential in speed, range and payload.
