MACE Aircraft

Representing an almost direct example of a mechanised version of an animate object, the MACE Aircraft has an immediate and direct link to Chaos Theory’s so-called “Butterfly Effect”.

The effect is named from an observation in Nature, that a butterfly’s notably erratic flight is due to the fact its unique wing action generates an Inverted Ring Vortex (IRV) that the butterfly’s momentarily still-and-extended wings then exploit to provide the insect with much of its lift.

The MACE Aircraft merely creates that IRV artificially above an equally-artificial Ground Plane Barrier that essentially replaces the butterfly’s wings, most notably held stationary at this brief point in its flight profile.

However, unlike all the other applications being considered, the MACE Aircraft can also take massive advantage of the original “pyramid” technology in a way that will dramatically change the transport systems of our world, possibly in ways we can yet barely imagine.

Basic MACE Aircraft Operation

The MACE Aircraft itself can provide a highly efficient and uniquely stable platform. They have inherent VTOL potential and the ability to hover safely close to the ground indefinitely, something that certainly cannot be claimed for drones and helicopters due to ‘Ground Effect Settling’(GES), a potentially deadly phenomenon in still air that’s almost impossible for drone and helicopter pilots to predict or entirely avoid.

Since GES is created by the very same vortex that’s employed by MACE Aircraft as the source of their lift, MACE Aircraft are entirely immune to an ever-present challenge that helicopter pilots ignore at their peril.

The Unique and Extended, Global Potential of MACE Aircraft.

In normal day-to-day operations, a MACE aircraft can potentially use its inherent VTOL performance to lift and fly, point-to-point, on onboard battery power, to operate within a regular daily range of ~200km-300km per recharge.

However, should it fly over a pyramid, its range could dramatically increase, almost to infinity.

Future Potential of a New, Clean and Green Aviation Technology

On February 17, 2007, whilst training for the Paragliding World Championships, German paraglider, Ewa Wisnierska, was sucked into a thunderstorm and, quite amazingly, lived to tell the tale.

Carried higher than Mt Everest, to 9947m, her inadvertent and mostly unconscious  flight demonstrated the true potential of deliberately using solar-powered, manmade thermals to power (possibly automated) VTOL, MACE-type Aircraft for long-distant flights. For cargo applications especially, the potential would seem almost limitless.

Although Ewa’s ears were severely frost bitten she, and her paraglider, were otherwise relatively  unharmed and clearly, had she been in a suitable, pressurised high-performance aircraft, from her 10,000m, (ie10km) altitude, she could potentially have flown at least 400km. Had she gone higher and/or used solar input and other range-extending techniques, her range might have been extended indefinitely,

The goal was never to harness storms per se, but to harness the potential they represent.

In a very real way, my investigation into what I now call the MACE technology and MACE aircraft has spanned my whole life and, after 60 years of research and experiment I believe I am now in a position to make a very strong case that covers most of my discoveries.

Of course I did not know it then, but what inadvertently became my life’s mission began over 65 years ago whilst on a visit to a scout camp, on edge of the Ashdown Forest in southern England, in August 1954 – when someone sighted a UFO.

The mystery aircraft to about 5 minutes to reach us.

Through binoculars we took turns watching it for around 10 minutes, as it then hovered almost silently above us, surrounded by a halo of steam.

Everyone was starting to get more than a little bored… when quite suddenly, the craft in the middle just suddenly vanished, leaving behind a descending smoke ring that quietly and steadily dispersed.

It had clearly been some sort of aircraft but the mystery that intrigued me above all others, was how did it work?

Turning theory into practice

Early last year, the final piece of this global jigsaw puzzle emerged in an article released from NASA’s ATTREX program and, exactly 65 years after I started, I was finally able to piece it all together and complete the puzzle, providing a set of answers even more astounding than even I would ever have believed was possible - were it not for a mountain of proven evidence, and this concept aircraft I’ve been developing now for over 3 years.

MACE Aircraft

Largely due to lack of funding and normal design issues, progress is slow but still remains incredibly promising. The now-recovered MACE technology, uses an “inverted” ring vortex over a ground plane barrier and the resultant  “MACE” aircraft is now expected to produce the exact-same effects I saw so long ago when I was just a boy.

The Aircraft employs the same vortex combination as recovered from the Pharos Lighthouse, with a (now entirely-artificial) GPB forming the entire top surface of the aircraft.

MACE Aircraft prototypeThe as yet to fly, MACE concept aircraft. Vortex generators are used to provide lift potential in hovering flight, with forward flight characteristics similar to a frisbee. The body of the aircraft is essentially an artificial ground plane (barrier) (GPB) and the airflow beneath it is relatively undisturbed.

On a normal aircraft wing, the (mean) average pressure-drop is generally ~1/3rd the maximum found at the top of the pressure ‘bell curve’. In the MACE aircraft, there is no bell curve, and the low pressure extends almost equally from rim to rim.

In theory, the static lift potential is ~200%-400% greater than the drones and helicopters it’s expected to replace.

However, the greatest, and as-yet unmentioned potential, comes by combining this simple VTOL aircraft with the lift potential of the thermals commonly produced by pyramids especially ‘true’ pyramids, a ground-based source of power that could obviously be enhanced in any number of ways.

A ‘green’, quiet, super-efficient, drone-type lifting platform, with potential VTOL/GPS performance and global range

A drop in mean sea level (MSL) pressure (of between 50mb-70mb) is normal to a cyclone’s eye. The record drop however, is double this @140mb (ie 1974 Pacific Cyclone Tip @870mb)

By direct extrapolation, if such a pressure-drop were applied to the top surface of a suitably-designed aircraft it could supply a static lifting force up to 10x that commonly developed by helicopters, drones, or even conventional aircraft in normal flight.

If proven, this basic proof-of-concept MACE-powered aircraft, could ultimately be powered purely by solar energy and could change our world beyond recognition.

The (now covered) central cooling unit of the MACE aircraft. Air is sucked through ~250 tiny holes in the wetted surface, into a chamber below, evacuated through the core of the 12 stator blades into a vacuum unit located within the central dome.

This concept aircraft tests the practicality of numerous techniques to suitably heat and/or cool the appropriate parts of the aircraft as needed to significantly enhance the basic Energy-Differential and MACE (effect).

For simplicity in analysis and development, the concept aircraft uses drone technology and numerous motors, elements and other devices to enable the different sections to be suitably isolated for test purposes.

There is every reason to believe a basic production aircraft would be much simpler. It would almost certainly use alternative, steam production techniques, quite possibly using Thermo-electric cells  (TECs) to provide both heat and cooling. A multi-stage, axial-flow compressor assists, with its counter-rotating second stage providing yaw control.

Its entirely possibly it could all operate efficiently with almost no essential moving parts at all.

The IRV used to lift this proof-of-principle MACE Aircraft is produced by high-speed, radiating jets of humid air. They’re designed to lower the air pressure significantly across the top surface of the whole aircraft, driving a venturi to replicate, in miniature, the vortex array of Nature’s global energy cycle (GEC).

In this model, the two main parts, hot (shaded pink) & cold (blue), work in unison but are driven independently. In a production model, a conventional inverter-type refrigeration unit would probably provide the temperature differential.

This enlarged, outer ½ section of the concept MACE Aircraft – shows the path of air, drawn in at the centre, compressed and ultimately driving a circular venturi. A rim element and Thermo-Electric Cells (TECs) can help in providing warm, humid air to drive an inverted ring vortex (IRV) above the craft’s outer rim.

The COLD, central condenser helps trigger flash condensation. Shaded blue, it’s powered separately by 2 counter-rotating axial-flow motor units on the vertical axis to provide yaw control.

6 air pumps assist TECs in keeping the inlet air cold and at low pressure and the outer, rim chamber, warm and at high pressure.

Energy extracted directly from the  atmosphere (by flash-condensation) greatly assists in maintaining the operational efficiency of the MACE aircraft.

(NB. Vortexes naturally recycle a significant percentage of the energy that drives them.)

The Ultimate MACE Aircraft

A multi-role Aircraft

By essentially combining the Pyramid and Pharos technologies, there is every reason to believe that totally viable and sustainable solutions to Global Aviation and Climate Change are in sight that are also well within our present technical capabilities.

A combination of the basic ‘Pyramid’ and ‘MACE Aircraft’ technologies, would use Pyramids as the basic elements of a global weather management system. Major pyramids would also serve a second role of near-equal significance, by creating thermals to potentially lift MACE aircraft to altitudes in excess of 20km, if required, giving them almost unlimited range and payload potential.

Using the IRV vortex to hover indefinitely on minimal power, the MACE Aircraft offers inherently safe and stable flight. Point-to-point, the relatively short distances of the average city commute could easily be achieved on the battery power of units now readily-available. With the addition of pressurisation and with a boost to altitude from the thermal produced by a pyramid, such an aircraft would have an almost unlimited operating range above the clouds in daylight, all potentially using the GPS-based technology already developed for controlling drones.

At night, or in less-than-idea conditions, additional power could be supplied by ground-based microwave transmitters.

A Summary of the ultimate role of the MACE Aircraft

The toroidal horizontal vortex or smoke ring phenomenon, has long been thought to have no practical value but stable horizontal toroids come in two main forms with quite extraordinary and very different capabilities that the MACE technology seeks to exploit to their maximum potential by suitably combining them with both thermals and tornados.

Although the total range of practical applications for the MACE technology is all-but impossible to predict with any certainty, it’s probably not unreasonable to suggest that what I’ve uncovered so far is just the tip of the iceberg, especially since there are clear indications that, in the distant past, it was primarily powered by microwaves, delivered from space, presumably by the alien race who introduced the technology here in the first place. What I can say with some certainty, is that, once the concept is recognised, then the evidence in support is both overwhelming and all but conclusive.

In the meantime, the MACE technology looks like the ultimate solution to all the problems presently being faced, directly and indirectly, as a result of Climate Change, especially as regards Aviation, for which, up until now, no rational solutions at all have even been proposed.

Now, by essentially combining the Pyramid and Pharos technology, there is every reason to believe that totally viable and sustainable solutions to all the problems of Global Warming could potentially be made generally available within a decade.
